Lazy 8 casino decision delayed

RENO, Nevada – As reported by the Reno Gazette Journal: "John Ascuaga's Nugget and the citizens suing Red Hawk Land Co. to stop the proposed Lazy 8 casino on Pyramid Highway will have to wait until Friday to learn if District Judge Jerome Polaha will dismiss the case, the judge said Wednesday.

"Following arguments last Friday, Polaha said he would issue a decision Wednesday regarding Red Hawk's motion to dismiss, but he's been tied up with another trial, his assistant Jerrine Ulleseit said.

"Red Hawk and lobbyist Harvey Whittemore have been trying for two years to win approval for the controversial casino, and lawyers told Polaha on Friday that the Nugget's lawsuit is inappropriate and should be dismissed…"
