Lawmakers move to exert spending control over Texas Racing Commission15 June 2015AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas lawmakers have taken more control of what they perceive to be the "rogue" Texas Racing Commission, the San-Antonio Express News reported. Lawmakers passed a "budget rider" which will permit them to more closely oversee spending by the Texas Racing Commission, the report said. The Texas Racing Commission caused controversy recently with its approval of “historical racing” or “instant racing,”, according to the San-Antonio Express News report. This new game will permit gamblers to bet on previously run-races, the report explained. |
