Las Vegas to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit13 January 2023(PRESS RELEASE) -- Las Vegas will celebrate Chinese New Year — or Lunar New Year — in spectacular fashion. Resorts throughout the destination commemorate the Year of the Rabbit with festive décor, authentic experiences, and delectable culinary offerings. Lion and Dragon Dances Vibrant lion and dragon dances will take place throughout the destination, inviting visitors to be a part of the festive experience. Symbols of good luck and prosperity, such as hanging lanterns, banners, firecrackers and floral arrangements, will be on display from Tuesday, 17 January to Sunday, 5 February at Caesars Palace, Flamingo Las Vegas, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Horseshoe Las Vegas, Paris Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace celebrates the occasion with a giant illuminated dragon display. A symbol of power, strength and good luck, the 22-foot-long dragon features 30,000 red and amber LED lights. Created exclusively for the shopping destination, the display will be available through Sunday, 5 February. Chinese New Year in the Desert returns to Las Vegas for its 12th consecutive year from Thursday, 26 January to Saturday, 28 January, celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with several festivities. Its Spring Festival Parade will bring gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes and more to downtown Las Vegas, with other events including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebratory dinners, and a kickoff feast with traditional dance performances. Fashion Show Las Vegas will celebrate Lunar New Year with festive décor including elegant red lanterns, a lion blessing and more. The Shops at Crystals will feature an over-the-top, photo-ready display, complete with an opulent dragon in the floral carpets, hanging red lanterns and a giant gold buddha. (photo by LVCVA) The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas celebrates the Year of the Rabbit with festive complimentary entertainment and dazzling photo opportunities through Sunday, 5 February. Wynn Las Vegas honors Lunar New Year with festive décor throughout the resort Monday, 16 January through mid-February. The Wynn Atrium will be adorned with roughly 100 playful rabbit figurines, while the resort will display majestic hanging silk dragons and numerous citrus trees, representing the Lunar New Year tradition of gifting citrus fruit during this holiday. Cuisine Dominique Ansel Las Vegas inside Caesars Palace will offer visitors the chance to indulge in the chef’s signature Cronut filled with Mandarin kumquat jam and vanilla ganache through Tuesday, 31 January. Down the Strip visitors can also find Lunar New Year specialties at Harrah’s Las Vegas’ Fulton Street Hall Noodle Bar. Menu items include oxtail soup, sausage fried rice and more. Several restaurants at MGM Resorts International properties have prepared special menus available for the Lunar New Year. Visitors can celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with delectable celebratory dishes at ARIA Resort & Casino (including authentic Chinese at Blossom and scrumptious dumplings and noodles at Din Tai Fung), Bellagio Resort & Casino (where visitors can dine in the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at The Garden Table), The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (including Chinese/Mexican fusion spot China Poblano and authentic Chinese eatery Red Plate), MGM Grand Hotel & Casino (where visitors can enjoy traditional cuisine at Grand Wok Noodle Bar, a menu meant to be shared at Hakkasan Restaurant, and a modern approach to traditional Japanese cuisine at Morimoto Las Vegas), and Park MGM (with an extensive list of noodle-centric dishes at La La Noodle). The Orleans Hotel & Casino commemorates Lunar New Year with a variety of delectable specials at Ondori Asian Kitchen. The celebratory menu, available Friday, 20 January to Sunday, 22 January, features dishes such as Prosperity in the New Year sea bass and oyster moss soup. Palms Casino Resort presents a number of culinary delights to commemorate the New Year. Serrano Vista Café and Send Noodles each feature special items from Saturday, 21 January to Monday, 30 January, with the former offering Lunar Congee and a Dim Sum Sampler and the latter celebrating with a three-course, prix-fixe menu. Tim Ho Wan at the resort also adds specialty items to its menu, including a steamed lava bun and a Chinese New Year cake, from Saturday, 21 January to Monday, 23 January. Lastly, the resort’s A.Y.C.E. Buffet serves an Asian-themed spread on Saturday, 28 January, complete with live Asian-themed entertainment. Jade Asian Kitchen & Noodles at Rampart Casino at The Resort at Summerlin offers celebratory dishes from Sunday, 22 January to Tuesday, 7 February. Entrees will be served family-style and include whole Beijing duck and black pepper beef filet mignon. Resorts World Las Vegas celebrates Lunar New Year with a Dim Sum Brunch at Genting Palace from Saturday, 21 January to Sunday, 22 January and Friday, 27 January to Sunday, 29 January. The selection includes congee, soup, seafood on ice, western carving stations, dim sum stations, and specialty desserts. SAHARA Las Vegas presents a special Chinese New Year menu at The Noodle Den, where Chef Guoming “Sam” Xin serves traditional Northern Chinese cuisine including his renowned hand-pulled noodles. The special menu, available Friday, 20 January to Thursday, 26 January, includes festive plates like steamed seabass with soy sauce and black sesame glutinous rice balls. WuHu Noodle at Silverton Hotel & Casino offers Chinese New Year specials from Sunday, 15 January to Sunday, 29 January. The menu includes Cantonese lobster, salt & pepper shrimp, and deserts like fried sesame balls and almond cookies. Serving an array of authentic and reimagined Chinese and other Asian dishes, CHI Asian Kitchen at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod celebrates Lunar New Year with festive dishes from Friday, 20 January to Sunday, 5 February. Selections include a Shanghai pepper spicy prawns with jalapeños and fried noodles, and a special cocktail, Lunar Moon Shadow, which is prepared with Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, yuzu, raspberry marmalade and orange bitters with a rabbit design printed on top. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas presents an array of special offerings at several restaurants and bars. Lunar New Year menu additions are available at fine dining restaurant Mott 32 from Saturday, 21 January to Saturday, 28 January, with selections including brown sugar sticky rice cakes and a lobster and abalone salad. Hong Kong Café’s limited-time festive dishes, including sun-dried golden oysters with sea moss and Chef Simon’s golden crispy chicken, are available Saturday, 21 January to Wednesday, 25 January. The resort also offers celebratory cocktails from Sunday, 22 January to Sunday, 5 February at its Cocktail Collective, which comprises The Dorsey Cocktail Bar, Electra Cocktail Club and Rosina Cocktail Lounge. Night + Market at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas offers a special menu for the occasion from Thursday, 19 January to Tuesday, 24 January. Dishes include crispy coconut shrimp with sriracha mayo, blistered shishito peppers with Thai peanut sauce, filet mignon pad Thai and chef Kris’ orange chicken.
