Las Vegas Ticketing Outlet Acquired for $25 million

1 September 2004

Las Vegas Sun

LAS VEGAS -- Travelocity.com has acquired Allstate Ticketing, a Las Vegas company that operates Showtickets.com and sells tickets to a variety of attractions, including Grand Canyon tours and 60 shows at local resorts, for $25 million.

Southlake, Texas-based Travelocity, owned by Sabre Holdings Corp., plans to operate Allstate as a subsidiary.

Allstate, which has about 200 employees, manages box offices at the Flamingo, Harrah's, Rio and Sahara and 20 ticket booths throughout Southern Nevada, including one at McCarran International Airport. It also owns exclusive rights to operate ticket booths at Hoover Dam and sells tickets for tours of the dam, the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead.

The company said that in 2003, it sold about 30 percent of the show tickets in Las Vegas for venues with fewer than 2,500 seats.
