LAS VEGAS -- The four-mile Las Vegas Monorail will begin accepting passengers March 1, the system's board of directors said Thursday.

Representatives of Transit Systems Management, the monorail's operations company, also said the project is expected to be completed $23 million under the original budget of $650 million.

Tickets for the monorail, which will operate daily from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. between the MGM Grand and the Sahara hotel-casinos, will cost $3 one way, $5.50 round trip.
