Las Vegas Casino Explosion Injures 3

29 June 2001

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- June 28, 2001 – As reported by the Associated Press: ``Three people were injured Thursday when a propane tank exploded on the roof of Caesars Palace hotel-casino.

``Clark County Fire Department spokesman Bob Leinbach said the explosion occured on the third-floor roof around midday, igniting a brief fire in roofing materials.

``A construction worker and two guests suffered burns and other injuries and were taken to the hospital. None of the injuries appeared life-threatening, Leinbach said.

```They were re-roofing that part of the building. Why it happened and how much damage it caused, we should know soon,’ he said.

``Neither the 2,400-room hotel nor the casino was evacuated…”
