Korean loses $2 million gambling case in Manila

21 December 2009

ANILA, Philippines -- A Korean national's attempt to redeem $2.1 million in gambling chips has been thrown out by The Philippine Supreme Court, according to a report in The Korea Times.

Yun Kwan-byung acquired the gambling chips when he travelled four times to The Philippines under a high roller program designed to bring foreign gamblers to casinos, the report said.

The court ruled however that the high roller program was an illegal gambling agreement, which rendered Kwan-byung's case without merit, The Korea Times said.
