Korean Casino Approved for New Zone8 August 2003SOUTH KOREA – As reported by the Joong Ang Daily: "The Incheon Metropolitan Government said yesterday that it would establish one or more casinos exclusively for foreigners in its new special economic zone. "The Ministry of Culture and Tourism gave a positive response to the plan on Tuesday, said Ahn Sang-soo, the mayor of Incheon. "…The profits generated from casinos would be reinvested into infrastructure projects in Yeongjong and Yongyu islands in the zone, or in Incheon, Mr. Ahn said. "The mayor pledged that Korean tourists would be strictly prohibited from entering the casinos…" |
