'King of Romance' visits The Orleans

21 September 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The "King of Romance" André Rieu will bring his award-winning music to the Orleans Arena on Friday, 20 October.

Since childhood, Rieu was fascinated with music as he watched his father, a conductor, create wonderful sounds with his orchestra. Rieu went on to pursue his own musical career, learning to play the violin and playing in orchestras. The musician then created his 60-piece renowned Johann Strauss Orchestra, known to be the largest private orchestra in the world, recording music in his own recording studio. Since Rieu founded the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1987, Rieu and his orchestra have been sharing classical music with fans across the globe.

Rieu has become one of the best-known solo male touring artists in the world with more than 500 Platinum awards, three Classic Brit Awards for Album of the Year and more than one billion views on YouTube. Throughout his career, Rieu has sold more than 40 million records and DVDs, released 30 No. 1 hits worldwide and has brought more than 600,000 fans to his live shows.

His performances offer memorable entertainment composed of world-famous, romantic and emotional melodies, filled with surprises, humor and top-class international soloists. Rieu's charisma, passion and vibrancy make his appearance on stage a unique experience for his audiences. Together with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017, André Rieu has initiated a worldwide revival of waltz music. His shows draw people of all ages and nationalities, dancing during spectacular performances.

Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets start at $42 plus tax and fees, and can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000; online at Ticketmaster, The Orleans website or in-person at gift shops inside The Orleans, Suncoast Hotel and Casino, Gold Coast Hotel and Casino and Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall.
