Kentucky Gaming Amendment's Fate Unclear

FRANKFORT, Kentucky – As reported by the Lexington Herald-Leader: "House Speaker Jody Richards declined yesterday to pronounce dead a constitutional amendment allowing casino gambling in Kentucky.

"Reporters questioned Richards, D-Bowling Green, about the fate of the bill because it has not yet been reassigned to another committee -- as he said it would be last week -- a move that effectively would kill it for the session.

"…Asked its fate yesterday, Richards said, 'It sort of depends on what the members want to do.'…"
