Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour kicks off at Mohegan Sun

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Country music's most popular touring act is on the road again in 2008 and is stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena for two rare performances. Kenny Chesney and special guest LeAnn Rimes will take the Arena stage on Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th. Both shows begin at 8:00pm.

Tickets are $125.00, $110.00 and $95.00 are available starting Saturday, February 9th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log onto ticketmaster.com; call any Ticketmaster Charge By Phone number; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available starting Sunday, February 10th at the Mohegan Sun Box Office subject to availability.

Kenny Chesney is touring in support of his latest studio effort, 2007's Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates, which saw its first two singles, "Never Wanted Nothing More" and "Don't Blink," claim the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. According to Billboard and Pollstar magazines, over the last three years, no one in music has sold more concert tickets in America than the 39-year-old singer.

LeAnn Rimes's musical career began at a very young age. Rimes's debut single, "Blue," was released when she was only 13 years old, and by age 24 she had sold over 37 million albums. To date she has won an American Music Award, two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards, and twelve Billboard Music Awards.
