Kansas Tribes Close to Closing Casino Deal

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – As reported by the Kansas City Channel 9: "Two Indian tribes say they are close to a deal with the state to build a casino near the Kansas Speedway.

"The Kickapoo and Sac-and-Fox tribes will close a deal Friday to buy 80 acres of land so they can open up a casino, KMBC's Emily Aylward reported.

"The plan is for a $210 million casino and hotel complex. The project would bring an estimated 2,500 construction jobs and more than 1,500 permanent jobs to Wyandotte County.

"…Several tribes have been working on plans for a casino somewhere in the county, but the announcement put the Speedway deal in the forefront…"
