Kansas Star Casino Hotel unveils new dining and entertainment venue23 June 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Kansas Star Casino Hotel Event Center today announced the opening of Tin Lizard Bar & Grill, a distinctive entertainment and dining experience, serving delicious food and cocktails in a unique, music-themed setting. "The Tin Lizard offers several things that Kansas Star does very well – dining, drinks and entertainment – creating an experience unlike any other in the area," said Ted Bogich, Executive Vice President, Operations for Boyd Gaming, Kansas Star's parent company. "Tin Lizard is a dynamic new place to gather, enjoy great music and live local entertainment, and rock your taste buds with an extensive variety of casual dining options and cocktails." The restaurant's menu (or "playlist") allows guests to create their own savory "mixtape" of a meal. "Opening Acts" include tavern-inspired appetizers such as deep-fried pickle chips and the "Loaded Tots," tater tots topped with cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon, green onions and served up with a trio of dipping sauces. Signature entrée selections include a robust selection of Star burgers, made with a half-pound of certified Angus beef; hand-dipped, house-made corn dogs; and the sticky-sweet root beer BBQ baby back ribs. The "Encore" selection of desserts includes house-made chocolate s'mores, plus the "Not Your Father's Root Beer Float," a unique twist on the classic dessert with alcoholic root beer and topped with fresh whipped cream. The décor is as rock-and-roll inspired as the menu, with a gritty and glamorous design theme accented with brick walls, metal-shaded vintage chandeliers and more. Industrial warehouse detailing is played against fun and decidedly modern architectural vignettes. The bar showcases a large, specially curated collection of rock memorabilia and artwork. The walls are lined with an impressive array of flat-screen televisions, making it a spectacular place to watch the game when there isn't a live band rocking the room on the corner stage. The room offers a great view of the stage from the bar to the tables, with not a bad seat in the house for live entertainment. Tin Lizard is the latest investment into the experience at Kansas Star, with the openings of our state-of-the-art arena, 11,000-square-foot Event Center and brand-new poker room in recent years. The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., with the full menu served Monday – Friday at 5 p.m., and served all day on Saturday and Sunday. Live entertainment will perform each Friday night, complete with concert-quality lighting and sound.
