Kansas Gaming Commission chief named18 July 2007TOPEKA, Kansas -- As reported by the Parsons Sun: "He's no gambler himself but former Pretty Prairie state legislator Robert Krehbiel says he looks forward to overseeing the state's gaming expansion. "At the urging of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, the state Racing and Gaming Commission selected Krehbiel, 60, to become the state's chief gaming officer earlier this month. "As the state's so-called gambling czar, Krehbiel would be responsible for ensuring that response to a law passed earlier this year authorizing four state-owned casinos and slot machines at three racetracks is well coordinated. "...His new job, he said, will involve balancing gaming industry needs with the public's desire for the kinds of entertainment venues they expect and ensuring lawmakers get what they intended when they passed the bill..." |
