Kansas gambling vote reviewed31 August 2007WEST VIRGINIA -- As reported by the Charleston Daily Mail: "Secretary of State Betty Ireland's staff will review the Kanawha County's mistake-riddled table games election. "Ireland made the announcement Wednesday after the special election was certified by the Kanawha County Commission following a recount. "The referendum passed by a 339-vote margin -- 23,196 to 22,857. "But the end result came after weeks of controversy revolving around uncounted ballots discovered by the county clerk's office during the canvassing process. "Ireland said the purpose of the review would be to fix problems that might affect future elections..." |
