Kansas county commissioners to vote on casino

RENO COUNTY, Kansas– As reported by the Hutchinson News: "Reno County Commissioners soon will be asked to vote on a resolution indicating the county's participation in a group - the South Central Coalition for Fair Play - advocating a destination casino.

"Earlier this year, Reno County Commissioner Francis 'Shep' Schoepf participated in the initial meeting of regional county officials focused on gaining the state's permission for a casino.

"…Reno County leaders have informally indicated they aren't interested in a casino here but would not oppose a regional casino if the arrangement pumped revenue into Reno County.

"…The resolution will not specify in which county the casino should go but is intended to demonstrate to state legislators that the region is united in a desire for a destination casino…"
