Kansas City-Area Casino Revenue Rises

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – As reported by the Kansas City Business Journal: "Combined revenue at the Kansas City area's four casinos rose 3 percent, but their combined customer count fell 3 percent in August compared with last year, according to statistics the Missouri Gaming Commission released Monday.

"The Kansas City market as a whole posted revenue of $58.7 million in August, up from $56.9 million in August 2004, the agency said in a written release. Customers totaled 957,554, down from 998,538 in August 2004.

"Ameristar Casino & Hotel Kansas City led area casinos in revenue with $20.9 million in August, up 5 percent from $19.8 million last year…"
