Judge denies Local 54 attempt to get Nov. referendum on Revel bond ageement with Atlantic City25 September 2008MAYS LANDING, New Jersey -- As reported by The Press of Atlantic City: "A superior court judge Thursday denied a local union's attempt to send a crucial casino bond issue to a citywide November vote in Atlantic City. But the judge stopped short of dismissing the idea of a referendum altogether. "Local 54 of UNITE-HERE was denied its petition seeking a November referendum on a complex agreement between the city and Revel Entertainment Group. The agreement was for a $56M. bond for road improvements around the company's casino project.
