Joy Behar to perform at SugarHouse Casino5 October 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- One of the most popular women in television, Joy Behar, will bring her comedy to The Event Center at SugarHouse Casino this December. Co-host of ABC's Emmy Award-winning show, "The View," Behar will perform Saturday, 10 December at 9 p.m. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, 7 October for $59. Behar is an original co-host, appearing for the first 16 seasons before returning to the panel in September 2015. Along with the 2009 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host, she is also the recipient of three Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs (MAC) awards, a CableAce award and a 2000 Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) award for her outstanding friendship to the LGBT community. "Joy Behar is a wonderful comedian and actress who isn't afraid to speak her mind," said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. "Her quick wit and wide-ranging comedy on current events will resonate with her fans in The Event Center." Behar has also had success on both stage and screen. Her film appearances include starring opposite Peter Falk in "Cookie," and a major role in Woody Allen's "Manhattan Murder Mystery." She also appears in Allen's current Amazon series "Crisis in Six Scenes." In theater, Behar performed in Nicky Silver's play "The Food Chain," for which she earned rave reviews; Behar also acted in the critically acclaimed play "The Vagina Monologues." In 2014, she wrote and performed in her own solo show, "Me, My, Mouth and I" at the Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC. Tickets for Joy Behar, and all SugarHouse performances, can be purchased online at the SugarHouse Casino website. In addition to live performances and concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center can be reserved for a variety of other occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars and trade shows.
