Johannesburg Casino License Update

4 December 2003

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – (Press Release) -- Century Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNTY) today announced that Silverstar Development Limited ("Silverstar") informed the Company that the Gauteng Gambling Board ("GGB") today served notice of motion to petition the South African Supreme Court of Appeal that a further appeal against the judgment of Mr. Justice Mynhardt of the Pretoria High Court be heard.

As reported previously, the GGB's application for leave to appeal the October 20, 2003 judgment ordering the award of the casino license to Silverstar has been denied by Mr. Justice Mynhardt of the Pretoria High Court on November 11, 2003.

Silverstar further informed the Company that, in its opinion, the GGB introduced nothing new of note and the GGB appears to rely on the arguments put forward in their first application for leave to appeal. Silverstar will file its corresponding affidavit shortly and is advised that an outcome of the petition might be known within three months from filing of all documents.

Through its South African subsidiaries, Century is contracted to Silverstar by a resort management agreement and retains a right of long standing to take up a minority equity interest in the venture although it's final level of equity interest remains to be determined.
