Jim Ananich resigns as Chair of the Michigan Gaming Control Board23 July 2026(PRESS RELEASE) -- Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Henry Williams announced the resignation of Jim Ananich from his role as Chair of the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Ananich's last day will be 1 August 2026. “On behalf of the entire Board and staff, I want to sincerely thank Jim Ananich for his service and contributions to the Michigan Gaming Control Board,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. “His leadership, legislative experience, and commitment to public accountability have been a tremendous asset to the Board, and we are grateful for the time and dedication he brought to this role.” Ananich is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Flint Health Coalition and serves as a lecturer in state and local government at the University of Michigan-Flint. He previously served as Michigan Senate Minority Leader, State Representative, and President of the Flint City Council. Ananich was appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in April 2025 to serve a term as Board Chair set to expire on 31 December 2028. |
