Jason Boland & The Stragglers coming home to Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs2 January 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- One of the most recognized and successful Red Dirt bands in the country is set to perform at Dog Iron Saloon inside Cherokee Casino - Will Rogers Downs on 12 January. Jason Boland & The Stragglers take the stage at 8 p.m. The bandmates originally hail from Oklahoma but have made their new home in Texas to be near the epicenter of the Red Dirt scene. The constant touring has built a fan base that has continues to grow with the band’s album collection. Jason Boland & The Stragglers’ 1999 debut album, “Pearl Snaps,” features songs such as “Somewhere Down in Texas,” “Proud Souls,” “Telephone Romeo” and “If I Ever Get Back to Oklahoma,” making their entrance to the music scene hard to miss. Studio albums “Truckstop Diaries” and “Somewhere in the Middle” followed in 2001 and 2004, respectively. In 2002, a concert recorded at the dance hall Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth was released and titled “Live at Billy Bob’s Texas.” In late 2006, Jason Boland & The Stragglers released “The Bourbon Legend,” produced by longtime Dwight Yoakum collaborator Pete Anderson. “Comal County Blue,” from the album of the same name, was released in 2008 and was the fastest-growing single that year from an independent label, per Texas Music Chart. The band’s most recent album, “Squelch,” hit shelves in 2015 and debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at No. 11, selling 4,200 for the week.
