Japan: Sumo trio arrested for organizing illegal gambling on baseball

JAPAN -- The sumo wrestling scandal in Japan continues to unfold according to a Kyodo News report.

Three former sumo wrestlers were arrested today suspected of organizing illegal gambling on baseball, the report said.

These arrests signify the first time the police have laid charges specifically on illegal gambling related to activities that took place April and May 2009, Kyodo New reported.
