Japan: Police seek to charge sumo wrestlers16 February 2011JAPAN -- For the first time ever in the history of the sport, police intend to lay charges against two sumo wrestlers for illegal gambling, the BBC reported. The world of Sumo has been rocked recently again by a second gambling scandal and next month's "grand tournament" has been cancelled, the report said. Thirteen wrestlers are implicated in the scandal and police are seeking to press charges against two in particular Daido and Shironoryu, the BBC report stated. |
