Italian domain names going for sky high prices

28 September 2011

VALLETTA, Malta -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Italian online casino domains have increased significantly in value following the recent regulation of the Italian online casino market on July 18th 2011.

Anticipating market regulation, I-Promotions Limited recently acquired blackjack.it (domain and website) at the staggering price of 65,000 Euros.

Interestingly there are more examples of Italian online casino and online gaming related domains/websites available only for companies willing to invest heavily.

Priced over 100,000 Euros

OnlineCasino.it is according to the owner, “for sale at a low six figure price in Euros” which means the price is over 100,000 Euros. Another example, OnlinePoker.it according to the current owner is available at a “price in Euros ranging in the mid 5 figures”.

Although these prices may seem very high, I-Promotions Limited thinks the amount paid for blackjack.it is justified and also feels the other examples are prices in accordance with the potential of the market. I-Promotions Limited expects to be able to earn back the investment over time due to the Italian market’s great potential.

800 million - 1 billion revenue in 2012

TrustPartners, a consultancy firm, has estimated the online casino revenue in Italy at 200 million Euros in 2011 and 800 million - 1 billion Euros in 2012.

The Italian online casino market is regulated now, which means that the casinos operating there need a license. The licensing system creates a more secure and trustworthy environment for players. This is one of the main reasons for the positive expectations regarding the Italian online casino market and the increase in prices of Italian online casino domain names.
