Isle of Capri Signs Mississippi Property Lease19 August 2004MISSISSIPPI – As reported by the Mississippi Times-Picayune: "Isle of Capri Casinos, which is considering moving a gambling boat to Elmwood, said Tuesday it has signed an option to lease Mississippi River batture property owned by shipping giant American Commercial Barge Lines near the Huey P. Long Bridge. "'This is not indicative that it's a done deal,' spokeswoman Lori Hutzler said of the boat's possible relocation to Elmwood. 'This option is predicated on a lot of things that would still have to happen first.' "The agreement is intended to give the casino company first rights to lease the site in the future, Hutzler said, and is merely a preliminary step and one that the company has repeated at 'several other sites in Louisiana' for the future home of the 289-foot-long Crown riverboat. "…Jefferson clerk of court property records show that Isle of Capri's president and chief operating officer, Timothy Hinkley, signed a 13-month option on July 29 to sublease 21.2 acres of batture property owned by Louisiana Dock immediately upriver from the Huey P.
