Isle of Capri Puts Up $1 Million for Iowa Project

WATERLOO, Iowa – As reported by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier: "A gaming company proposing a casino near the Lost Island Adventurepark on the south end of town says it is committed to helping Waterloo build a vibrant downtown.

"And Tuesday, officials with Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. put up $1 million to prove it.

"Representatives of the Biloxi, Miss.-based Isle of Capri announced plans to donate the money for a downtown marina on the Cedar River or any other project the city and the nonprofit Waterloo Development Corp. deem necessary or important for downtown redevelopment.

"…BHCGA and the Isle of Capri have proposed a $100 million floating casino and hotel on a man-made lake near the interchange of Interstate 380 and U.S. Highways 20 and 218 near the water park on the southeast edge of the city, south of Crossroads Center…"
