Isle of Capri Closes Harrah's Deal in Mississippi

Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. has completed the acquisition of the original Harrah's casino facility in Tunica County, Mississippi. The company now focuses on its plans to renovate the facility and reopen it this summer as an Isle of Capri Casino.

Isle of Capri President and COO John M. Gallaway sees the acquisition as a key to strengthening the company's presence in Mississippi. "With this acquisition, the Isle of Capri will become the only operator with locations in all three major gaming markets in Mississippi," Gallaway explained. "I think this makes a strong statement on our brand and the faith we have on the continued growth of the Mississippi market."

Chairman of the Board and CEO Bernard Goldstein, echoed Gallaway's statements, saying, "Our goal has always been to grow the company by entering into markets where we see opportunity, and we did that today with this acquisition. From being the first casino to open in Mississippi, to now having three locations in the state, is growth Isle Style."
