Islamic Group Against Singapore Casino

SINGAPORE -- As reported by Channel News Asia: " The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, or MUIS, has submitted a paper to the government, stating clearly its stand against the building of the casino.

"…It also included findings of a research it did on the ill-effects of casino gambling - deemed more detrimental on youths and the lower income group.

"Mohd Alami Musa, President of MUIS, said: 'Islam does not permit Muslims to work in casino, invest in any casino project, or support the casino project.'…"
