Ireland: Minister still mulling online gambling tax

14 November 2011

IRELAND -- Ireland still intends to create legislation to tax online wagers, RTE reported.

The Finance Minister Michael Noonan acknowledged work is "ongoing" on such legislation, which would see bets taxed that are placed within Ireland, the report said.

Noonan remarked it was currently difficult to tax bets that are placed "remotely", RTE reported.
