Ireland: Heritage protection group to appeal casino ruling

TIPPERARY, Ireland -- An Taisce, the heritage and environmental protection body, will appeal against the "planning approval" awarded for a much touted casino in Co Tipperary, The Irish Times reported.

An Taisce contends the plans flout "policies on sustainable development", The Irish Times said.

The massive development would include a "replica of the Whitehouse" in tribute to its Irish born architect, casino, hotel, horse racing track and much more, The Irish Times noted.
