IP Casino named Pacesetter donor by United Way of South Mississippi16 September 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- IP Casino Resort and Spa team members pledged more than $77,000 for the United Way of South Mississippi as part of its annual United Way donation campaign, earning IP the distinction of being one of the organization’s Pacesetter donors for the second year in a row. “We are proud to help lead the way as a Pacesetter for United Way’s donations for the rest of the year,” said Duncan McKenzie, Vice President and General Manager of IP. “Our team members give generously of their time, talent and resources to many great causes, and our annual United Way campaign is a highlight of their generosity each year.” So far in 2016, IP has donated nearly $120,000 to United Way of South Mississippi. In addition to the campaign, which ran from 29 July – 22 August, IP also awarded United Way $40,000 as a charitable grant earlier this year. Earlier this summer, IP helped sponsor the inaugural Gulf Coast Dragon Boat Festival, with IP’s team boat taking second place in the races. The annual United Way campaign invites team members to contribute recurring or one-time donations to support United Way of Southern Mississippi, and is part of a national United Way campaign held at Boyd Gaming properties throughout the country. Team members participate in a variety of activities throughout the campaign period to help drive donations, including raffles for getaways, dinner certificates, gas cards and more. |
