Iowa Group Reprimanded by Board1 June 2005IOWA – As reported by the Iowa City Press-Citizen: "The local group that touted a casino and golf resort for Riverside received a letter of reprimand last month from the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board. "The letter, sent after a May 19 board vote, states that Washington County Citizens for Good Jobs 'failed to file true and accurate campaign reports by not disclosing debts or estimated debts in violation of Iowa Code.' "According to the campaign disclosure board, the letter of reprimand is considered discipline for violating the law but serves as the disclosure board's 'mildest sanction.' "Groups campaigning during the Washington County 2004 referendum on gaming had until Oct. 19 to file campaign contribution disclosure reports. Catfish Bend Casinos was the sole contributor to the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort campaign. The casino company gave $400,000 to the campaign.
