Iowa commercial casinos to remain closed through 15 May27 April 2020The Iowa Gaming Association announced that the temporary closure of all 19 casinos in the state will be extended to 15 May. Below is a message from the IGA's website. "To protect the health and safety of our guests, employees and communities, Governor Kim Reynolds has extended her order that Iowa’s 19 commercial casinos will remain closed through May 15. We support this difficult but necessary decision as it is imperative to contain this coronavirus and slow its community spread. The commercial casinos are premier entertainment destinations that attract thousands of patrons each week. We look forward to the day when we can again reopen to provide a fun patron experience and, importantly, bring back the employees who are the backbone of delivering stellar customer service. This significant disruption has taken a tremendous economic toll on so many businesses, families, and communities. We can accomplish this sooner is we can all encourage everyone to do their part to help with social distancing, hand washing, and safely stay COVID-19 free. We will continue to follow the advice and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control(CDC), Iowa Public Health Department, and Governor Reynolds. We’re closely monitoring all new developments regarding COVID-19 and will communicate updates on our website. Thank you for your cooperation. |
