Investor Pulls Out of Wisconsin Casino

RED CLIFF, Wisconsin – As reported by the Associated Press: "Members of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians have put a casino project on hold after an investor pulled out of the venture.

"Tribal chairman Ray DePerry said an Illinois bank supporting the casino-hotel project backed out after a recent state Supreme Court decision that raised questions about casino gambling in Wisconsin.

"…He said the tribe has scrapped plans for construction this year and a May 2005 opening while it decides what to do next…"
