Industry Leaders Push for Responsible Gaming22 June 2005SINGAPORE – As reported by the Channel News Asia; "Gaming will continue to be the main money spinner in most integrated resorts around the world, according to industry players who are in Singapore for the Asian Casinos Expo. "…Industry players say the gaming component will continue to be the most profitable within an integrated resort. "…Besides concentrating on the gaming aspects, many casino operators are now also looking at the social impact of gaming. "This is especially when the casino is situated in an urban environment such as Singapore. "There is now talk of looking into creating responsible gaming and marketing programmes. "…[These programmes] will include having counsellors on hand round the clock to help gaming customers, and taking up advertisements on the ills of gaming." |
