Indiana Town Holds Casino Meeting

LANSING, Indiana – As reported by the Northwest Indiana News: "The long-awaited town hall meeting to debate and discuss the proposed casino in Lynwood will be held Oct. 28.

"The meeting will include presentations by representatives of the Ho-Chunk Nation, who have proposed the complex on 432 acres at Stony Island Avenue and Glenwood-Lansing Road, and Citizens for Our Community, a Lansing-based organization opposing the casino.

"The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Thornton Fractional South High School auditorium.

"Village President Dan Podgorski announced details of the meeting, organized by Lansing officials, at Tuesday's meeting of the Village Board.

"…The committee will include members of the Ho-Chunk Nation, Citizens for Our Community and the Village Board. The committee will choose questions written by members of the audience on index cards.

"Podgorski said Carl Smits Jr. has already agreed to represent Citizens for Our Community on the committee…"
