Indiana Officials Wants Apology for Casino Comment5 May 2005INDIANA – As reported by the Northwest Indiana Times: "Lansing Village Trustee Bob Ryan wants an apology from U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. over statements he said the congressman made linking Lansing with support for a proposed Ho-Chunk casino. "At a U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources hearing last week, the congressman spoke in favor of the planned 432-acre casino/resort complex in Lynwood. "Ryan took special exception to statements the Chicago Democrat made to the committee suggesting the village of Lansing supported the casino even though the village passed a resolution last year to the contrary. "…Jackson, according to the congressional record, said 'The village of Lynwood, and virtually all of the local communities surrounding it support the Ho-Chunk proposal, including the villages of Calumet City, Steger and Glenwood, the township of Bloom, as well as the mayors of nearby communities Lansing ...'
