Indiana official defends changes

FRENCH LICK, Indiana – As reported by the Bedford Times: "While a plan by State Rep. Jerry Denbo, D-French Lick, to introduce casino legislation has raised the ire of many Orange County residents, Denbo said Monday his legislative proposal would be a 'win-win situation for everyone.'

"…The other key piece of the legislation would abolish the Historic Hotels Preservation Commission, a local group that was instrumental in the casino development process.

"Replacing the HHPC would be a new entity that Denbo said would have authority to award grants for various purposes in the county…"
