Indiana: Hammond Mayor backs Gary land-based casino28 November 2012INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. has changed his mind on Gary land-based casino and wants one for Hammond, the NWI Times reported. The Mayor will support the current plan for Majestic Star to move to a land-based Gary location, if Hammond receives the second casino license currently associated with Majestic Star, the report said. However other politicians expect that license to be returned to the state and expressed surprise at the Hammond Mayor's proposal, according to the NWI Times. |
