Indiana Governor Worried About Trump Casino Deal

INDIANA – As reported by the Indianapolis Star: "Gov.-elect Mitch Daniels, who said he's concerned about the financial problems of Donald Trump's casino company, wants the Indiana Gaming Commission to wait before sealing the deal with them to build the state's 11th casino in French Lick.

"'A deal that large and that uninspected should not be hastily rushed through at the 11th hour,' Daniels said today at a morning news conference.

"However, Gov. Joe Kernan's administration said they won't halt progress on the French Lick casno, and the contract with Trump Hotels and Casinos, until Daniels takes office Jan. 10.

"…But Kernan chief counsel Jon Laramore said in a letter today that all they agreed to was to pass on the request to the gaming commission, and to keep the Daniels team informed of casino developments…"
