Indiana Commission Accepts Proposal

FRENCH LICK, Indiana – As reported by the Indianapolis Star: "Because some commissioners didn't know enough details of Blue Sky Casino's plans for the state's 11th casino, the Indiana Gaming Commission on Thursday accepted the proposal, contingent on several conditions.

"…Despite the last-minute concerns, the commission voted unanimously to give the license to Blue Sky Casino.

"…The Blue Sky joint venture already has invested more than $60 million -- $37 million at West Baden and about $27 million at French Lick -- in renovations. Blue Sky Casino is owned by Lauth Resorts and Casino, an affiliate of real estate developer Lauth Group in Indianapolis and Orange County Holdings, a nonprofit organization formed by the Cook Group family of companies in Bloomington.

"…Despite concerns from the commission that the project will not be fully complete by December 2007, Blue Sky officials assured that their projected dates were accurate.

"…Completion of the casino, parking garage, event center, golf courses and the first 200 rooms at French Lick is slated for December 2006, with the final 240 rooms completed by December 2007. Blue Sky expects to finish restoring the 240 rooms at West Baden by July 2007…"
