Indiana Casino Enforcement Officers Sought

13 February 2006

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – As reported by the Lousiville Courier-Journal: "The Indiana Gaming Commission is looking for a few good men and women to fill newly created, specialized positions in which they will take over the enforcement duties at three Southern Indiana casinos.

"But the commission's executive director, Ernest Yelton, is not seeking only those with some experience as traditional police officers.

"Instead, he's looking for a wide range of expertise, including candidates who majored in criminology or accounting or have other financial or related experience that could be useful in oversight of the gambling industry.

"And those recruits will get guidance in casino games and gambling crimes, as well as training in traditional police work.

"…The commission's new enforcement agents -- authorized by a law passed last year -- will replace the state police officers who have patrolled the riverboats since the first one opened in 1995…."
