Indiana bill would limit casino credit

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – As reported by the Louisville Courier-Journal: "A Central Indiana senator has filed legislation that would require casinos to administer alcohol breath tests to gamblers who want to obtain a line of credit larger than $1,000.

"Sen. Brent Waltz, R-Greenwood, said he was inspired to file Senate Bill 31 after a Corbin, Ky., man sued the Caesars Indiana casino in Harrison County. The suit says he was visibly drunk when the casino gave him several credit advances totaling $75,000, money he says he lost in a single night.

"…Waltz said casinos should not be able to serve customers drinks and then sign them up for credit unless a breath test proves they are sober enough to accept the terms of the agreement…"
