Indian Bookies Pick Election Favorites

MUMBAI, Indian – As reported by the Asian Age: "Bookmakers in Mumbai say the betting rates right now show that the Congress-NCP combine and its alliance partners will win the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

"The Congress and the NCP together won 133 of the 288 Maharashtra Assembly seats in the last polls, and are likely to add 10 more seats to their tally. Together with the other alliance partners, the combine is expected to have a clear edge over the BJP-Shiv Sena, a leading bookie said. In the last Assembly elections, the Congress and the NCP had contested separately and came together only after the results were out.

"…According to a leading bookmaker, while the Congress, the NCP and the Shiv Sena will win more seats individually, the BJP will lose at least 10 seats in the state…"
