Independent MP sets deadline for pokie plan30 March 2011AUSTRALIA -- Independent MP Andrew Wilkie, who wants limits introduced on how much gamblers can spend at pokie machines, has similarly set a limit with the Prime Minister, according to the Australian Associated Press. Mr Wilkie said he'll give the Prime Minister until Budget Day May 2012 to introduce the limit or will withdraw his support for the government, the report said. Mr Wilkie described his agreement with the Prime Minister, in relation to gambling limits on pokies, as "carved in stone", the Australian Associated Press reported. |
