Illinois: Senate approves casino for Chicago, slot machines

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois -- Tuesday saw the Senate approve gaming legislation that now passes to the Gov. Pat Quinn for approval, the Chicago-Sun Times reported.

The legislation permits a casino in Chicago and allows for slot machines at airports and racetracks, the report explained.

The vote was close, but sees a change in the climate of resistance to expanding the number of casinos, the Chicago Sun-Times said.
