Illinois Officials Face New Hurdles6 June 2005ILLINOIS – As reported by the Quad- City Times: "Casino Rock Island officials aren't resting on the laurels of their recent legislative victory. "Though the Illinois House and Senate have approved a measure granting the Illinois Gaming Board authority to allow casinos to move from one location to another within a municipality and Gov. Rod Blagojevich promises to sign it, much remains to be done before work can begin on the $90 million project. "The first appears to be a slam dunk. "…He has 60 days from the passage of the bill to sign it. The gaming bill passed May 26. Rausch said she didn't know when Blagojevich planned to sign it. "Casino Rock Island's proposed move and expansion have been put on the Wednesday Illinois Gaming Board agenda. It will be discussed in closed session…" |
