Illinois House repeals casino smoking ban30 March 2011SPRINGFIELD, Illinois — The smoking ban in state casinos introduced in 2008 was lifted yesterday, The Chicago Sun-Times reported. The softening of the law came in response to a 28 percent decline in revenue that the ban inflicted, the reported said. Casinos in neighbouring states allow smoking in casinos, the bill's sponsor Rep. Dan Burke (D-Chicago) explained. The American Lung expressed anger after the decision and accused Rep. Dan Burke of lying about the situation in neighbouring states, The Chicago Sun-Times reported. |
