Illinois governor pushes for smoking exemption24 July 2007CHICAGO, Illinois -- As reported by the Pantagraph: "Gov. Rod Blagojevich's signature on the statewide smoking bill comes as some Illinois lawmakers continue to push for an exemption for casinos. "Supporters say the ban will drive smokers — and their wagers — to casinos across state lines. "Under one plan sponsored by state Rep. Patrick Verschoore, D-Milan, smoking would be allowed in casinos for five years or until smoking is banned in casinos in neighboring states..." |
